An ageing platform, rebuilt to scale.

Manage My Moves gives UK removal and storage companies one system for leads, quotes, scheduling, storage and invoicing. Its original software had run for years and could no longer keep up, so our team of five rebuilt it.

The situation

Software that had outgrown its job.

Running a removals and storage business means coordinating enquiries, property surveys, quotes, jobs, vehicles, crews, storage and invoices. Manage My Moves is built for exactly that: one connected system instead of spreadsheets, emails and paperwork.

Its original software had served for years, but it had become obsolete and could not scale with demand. It needed a rebuild from the ground up, and the people already using it expected a better product than the one they had.

How it went

From old system to new.

  1. 1

    Understand

We learned how removal firms work day to day, so the requirements were right before the build began.

  2. 2

    Rebuild

A web portal for organisation admins, clients and surveyors, and a mobile app for surveyors.

  3. 3

    Migrate

Data moved from the old system to the new one, without losing what customers rely on.

  4. 4

    Go live

The platform is live and the client is moving its customers across.

What we delivered

What we built.

Leads and customers

Import or capture enquiries, move each one through the sales stages and schedule follow-ups.

Quotes and documents

Quotations, confirmations and invoices, created from the same customer record.

Diary and crews

A work diary and calendar, with a crew board to assign vehicles and staff to each day.

Storage and contracts

Storage enquiries, units and contracts, in the same system as removals.

Accounts and wages

Invoices, credits and payment status, plus crew wages and weekly sign-off.

Surveyor mobile app

A mobile app for surveyors, connected to the same platform.

The hard part

Better than what they already had.

Existing users knew the old system well and expected the new one to beat it. That meant getting the requirements exactly right, not just copying old screens.

Two technical challenges stood out: keeping the platform fast with large amounts of data, and moving data from the old system to the new one.

For the people running the business

One system for the whole day.

Sales, scheduling, crews, storage and invoicing in one portal. Screens are blurred.

LeadsEvery enquiry on one pipeline, from new lead to completed job.
The surveyor app

A survey app that works room by room.

Four screens from the surveyors’ mobile app. Content is blurred.

Log inSurveyors sign in to see the surveys assigned to them.
Client summaryClient details, addresses and requirements, with the total distance of the move.
Room by roomEvery room is listed, with the volume totalled as the survey builds up.
Count the itemsAdd items to each room and see their volume as the survey goes.
More of the platform

Built around how removal firms work.

Three more screens from the web portal. Content is blurred.

The business journey

From enquiry to invoice.

  1. 1Enquiry

A lead arrives from a provider or is entered by hand.

  2. 2Survey and quote

A survey is booked and a quote goes out.

  3. 3Job

Vehicles and crew are assigned in the diary.

  4. 4Invoice

An invoice is raised and tracked to payment.
